Some people say that art subjects such as music, drama, and creative writing are an essential part of education, and every school should include them in its syllabus. Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Give your opinion and examples from your own experience.

A few individuals opine that art subjects like music, drama and creative writing are a significant part
of education and all schools should include them in their courses. This essay agrees with this
statement because firstly, it helps in the overall development of an individual and secondly, one can pursue these subjects as a profession.
There is no denying this conviction that it is significant to study academic subjects such as mathematics, science, social studies etcetera, however studying subjects like music, drama etc. help in the holistic development of students. It helps them to learn various moral as well as social skills. Moreover, it guides children to build confidence and to explore the creative side of their brains. Drama and group singing teaches children to learn about teamwork which is an integral aspect of life. For example, till the fifth standard, being an introverted person, I rarely participated in co-curricular activities. However, when I started attending drama workshops, I got more inclined towards these subjects. This development brought a paradigm shift in my personality in my later school years.
Earlier, most of the students used to take these subjects as a hobby, but in this contemporary epoch, these subjects help you to develop your career. There are a lot of professional institutes which offer specialization in these subjects at a reasonable rate. Children can participate in various competitions at the national level. This experience can help them to earn not only money but also fame. To exemplify, I used to make a decent amount of money in my college days when I had started selling my paintings to my fellow mates.
To conclude, art subjects should be an integral part of the curriculum at the schools for the all-round development of children
and children can pursue these subjects as careers also.
